Hi, I’m Norah AlJunaidi .

My journey to becoming an SLP is rooted in deeply personal connections, beginning with volunteering alongside my neighbor, an AAC user to expand his communication and participation in his community. This ignited my passion for empowering diverse communication and led me to becoming a speech language pathologist. I started my clinical work with college-aged neurodivergent students on social skills and executive function. My experience then broadened to a skilled nursing facility, where I now apply a holistic approach to communication and cognition for older adults. Across these varied experiences, my Palestinian American heritage and its values of resilience and dignity have been my unwavering guide. This deep-seated belief in treating every person equally and fostering realistic paths to thriving is the heart of Sunbird Speech – a name inspired by the vibrant sunbird of Palestine , symbolizing warmth, joy, and the relentless pursuit of life, and importantly, its ability to sing in different dialects – a powerful symbol for my dedication in therapy to help every individual find and express their authentic voice, no matter their unique communication needs or identity.

My Approach

At Sunbird Speech, our foundational philosophy centers on providing equitable, supportive, and inclusive care that respects the unique strengths and identities of every individual. We are deeply committed to a neurodiversity-affirming framework, ensuring all our clinical interventions and consulting services are person-centered and foster authentic communication and cognitive well-being.

Beyond individual support, our approach extends to transformative justice and patient advocacy, where we are unwavering in our commitment to stand up for what is right as we actively work to address systemic inequities. We strive to empower individuals and organizations through education, guiding educators, healthcare professionals, and businesses to adapt their practices and cultivate truly inclusive environments where everyone can realistically thrive.
